Andrew Dawe - The Tree Musketeers

The Tree Musketeers Raise Their Swords To The Red Tooth Cutting System

The Tree Musketeers have been riding through Melbourne’s southeast suburbs for over 12 years. Owner, Andrew Dawes operates a 13hp Dosko, and a 47hp Stumpman machine, both of which he converted to the Red Tooth rotational system approximately three months ago.

Andrew advises that his Musketeers have seen an increase in their leisure time, as rotating to a new edge has never been easier. With more time on their hands the Tree Musketeers can now focus on bringing down dangerous trees, and saving the environment.

Peter Mallesa - Stumpmen Stump Removals

Red Tooth™ Exceeds Key Selection Criteria

Located on the Victorian Mornington Peninsula, Peter Mallesa has owned and operated Stumpmen Stump Removals for over 13 years.

Peter currently operates a 47hp (35kW) Stumpman grinder and a recently delivered, 78hp (58kW) SP7500 Red Roo by Carlton tow behind machine.

After trying many types of cutting systems over the years, Peter’s preferred cutting system has been the ½” stem and pocket. When considering the switch to Red Tooth™, Peter’s key selection criteria were three-fold: performance, maintenance, and cost.

Peter has been using the Red Tooth cutting system for over 6 months. He has kept very accurate records on the 47hp Stumpman grinder, which is fitted with 18 teeth. Peter advises, operating the unit over a 20-day period, he ground 469 feet (143m) of material without sharpening the teeth. Material included pine, ash, oak, eucalyptus, and tea tree.

Maintenance on the teeth involves loosening the Nyloc nut and rotating the Red Tooth™ to a new edge.

Peter’s Stumpmen uses the RT19, which retail for $9.95 ex GST for the tooth and $19.00 ex GST for the pocket. The cost of the Red Tooth™ system varies depending on the horsepower of the grinder. The Red Tooth™ system will fit any industry standard hole centre pattern ensuring quick and easy conversion.

Samual Manning - Treeco Ltd.

We now have a competitive edge !

Having been disappointed for some time I decided to search for a better tooth.
Red Roo supplied a tooth that not only was more durable and efficient but also cost competitive. They surpassed my expectations.

Our grinding and maintenance time has been reduced and when a tooth is damaged by unseen hard objects, just unlock the nut and rotate the tooth 120 degrees and keep grinding.

Bruce Hooley: Down to Earth Treeloppers

“Productivity has doubled”

I have trialled the new teeth on about 40 stumps this week and this is my opinion:

Productivity has doubled, cutting stump removal time in half. Less drag on the engine, no vibration and 100% impact on the stump with the added bonus of rotating the teeth on the job.

This only takes 5 minutes to get a new sharp edge making the work load easier.

I would highly recommend Red Teeth.

Geoff Fyvie: Airlie Stumpgrinding

I have used other brands of teeth with various success, once I found these Red Roo teeth I was amazed!

1. You get three cuts before sharpening.

2. Easy to change (10 minutes plus 14 mm ring spanner)

Job done!

I have had 21 hours cutting out of the teeth on that machine without changing the cutting edge. These are the teeth for me!

Tableland Stumpgrinding

Red Teeth help get more out of a Rayco 1625 Jr

Ron Mackedie, of Tableland Stumpgrinding, writes, “My uncle, Phil Mackedie, owner of Macka's Stump Grinding in Cairns, Queensland suggested I contact Red Roo to purchase an alternative cutting system for my stump grinder. Phil told me the ‘Red Teeth’ were more effective on pine than the Rayco SuperTeeth I was running on my Rayco 1625 Super Jr. The Red Teeth also had the added benefit that they may be rotated for longer life.”

“ Subsequently, I contacted Red Roo to purchase the pockets and Red Teeth. I compared the performance of a new set of Rayco Superteeth against a new set of Red Teeth. Both sets of teeth were trialed on a job consisting of 110 pine stumps. The pines were all cut down approximately 10 months ago as a result of the devastation caused by Cyclone Larry.”

“ I compared the performance of both types of stumpgrinding teeth on pine stumps of equal depth, diameter and age. Initially, I used the Rayco Superteeth and then changed over to the Red Teeth. I found the Red Teeth were up to fifty percent more effective than the Rayco Superteeth on pine stumps.”
