Ace Tree Management
Ace Tree Management Takes Delivery of 2012 Chipper
Red Roo Sales & Service Company Pty Ltd has completed delivery and commissioning of a new Model 2012 chipper to Ace Tree Management.
This marks the first delivery of a 2012 in Victoria. Owner Mark Calvi evaluated several machines before selecting the 2012. “The 2012 offered the best value for money package,” says Mark. “We have been operating the 2012 for just on three weeks now and it has delivered everything expected of it. The build quality, reliability and performance make the 2012 well suited for our operations. As a plus, the crew loves it!”
“Red Roo is glad to have Ace Tree on board with the first 2012 in Victoria,” says Jim Kerr of Red Roo. “We understand Mark’s requirement to have a reliable and efficient chipper in his fleet. The 2012 exceeds the criteria. As Mark mentioned, value for money - this machine is hard to beat.”
Core to the 2012’s impressive performance is the 4.5l, 140hp (104kW) John Deere® turbocharged diesel engine. A premium power unit, the John Deere® delivers excellent fuel economy and with the standard auto-reverse feed system, makes short work of the most difficult Australian timber. The class leading 20” wide x 12.75” high throat reduces the amount of trimming required. The John Deere® also offers a 500 hour service interval, which means more time between scheduled services and reduced service costs.
Built in the USA by JP Carlton, the 2012 leaves the factory ready for the Australian market. Standard features include full ADR compliance (including Hella® multivolt LED’s), hydraulic winch, mounted spare, 360º rotational discharge chute and powerful, class leading 32cu inch twin feed wheel motors. Dual controls allow crew to operate lift and crush on the 2012 from either side.
Mark has uploaded a number of video clips to YouTube.com. To see Ace Tree Management in action, simply type Ace Tree or Red Roo in the search engine. |

Treesect
Treesect Takes Delivery of First 2012
Red Roo Sales & Service Company Pty Ltd has completed delivery and commissioning of the new Model 2012 chipper to Treesect Tree Service.
This marks the first delivery of the 2012 in Australia and according to owner David Smith, the 2012 has “performed above expectation and it is already a favorite with the crew.”
David has been in the industry for a number of years and has owned and operated both disc and drum type chippers. When the decision to update his 3 year old Woodsman was made, David chose to switch back to a disc style chipper.
“We have a program of turning equipment every 2-3 years,” says David. “It allows us to keep the maintenance and operating costs down by having the most modern equipment in the fleet. I liked what I saw in the 2012 - great build quality and excellent performance.”
“Red Roo is pleased to have Treesect as the launch customer for the 2012,” states Sean Kerr of Red Roo. “While the unit is new to Australia, it has been well received in US. Built by JP Calrton, the 2012 has been factory built for Australian conditions.”
The 2012 features a John Deere® 4045 series 4.5l, 140hp (104.kW), 4 cylinder, turbo charged diesel engine with air to air intercooling. This is the same power unit in Dave’s previous chipper and the fuel economy and reliability are rock solid. The engine burns less than 1.9lph at idle and between 7-8lph at full throttle.
Standard features on the 2012 include winch, mounted spare, 360º rotational discharge chute and powerful, class leading 32cu inch twin feed wheel motors. |

Ipswich
Council QLD
Ipswich City Council Takes Delivery of 12X Woodchipper
IPSWICH – Red Roo Sales & Service Company
Pty Ltd announced the completion of delivery and commissioning
of Ipswich City Council’s
12Xtreme 12” woodchipper.
This marks the first delivery of
the type in Australia and according to Gordon Wellen, Technical
Officer for Ipswich City Council, the
12X has “performed above expectation.”
The 12Xtreme is also proving itself to operating crews.
Dave Fearon,
Crew Coordinator for Council, explains that the 12X’s
easy operation and low maintenance requirements have quickly
established the 12X as a favorite with the Council’s crews.
"The large feed opening allows the boys
to put more material into the machine and that means they finish
the job quicker. The ability
of this machine to process material is incredible!”
The
compact size of the 12Xtreme allows the crews to take it into
areas where larger machines can not access without sacrificing
any of the performance.
The 12Xtreme, like all Red Roo/Woodsman
chippers, features the largest chipping drum available on the
market. The fully fabricated
drum is 37.5” in diameter and 24” across. When
combined with an infeed throat opening of 13” high x
25” wide,
the full width cut drum makes for class leading performance
in a 12” capacity chipper.
Councils 12Xtreme is equipped
with a 125hp John Deere diesel that features 500 hour service
intervals, a PT Tech hydraulic
clutch
which requires no scheduled service until 5000 hours, hydraulic
discharge chute slew and a winch. Controls are mounted kerb
side for added operator safety.
"The 12Xtreme will provide excellent
reliability and efficiency and Red Roo is proud to partner with
Ipswich City Council in
introducing this series of chipper to Australia,” said Sean Kerr of Red
Roo. |

Tree Lopping
Red Roo Delivers First 20Xtreme Woodchipper
Brisbane, 2006 – Red Roo Sales & Service
Company Pty Ltd has delivered and commissioned the first 20Xtreme
woodchipper
in Australia.
The 20Xtreme has been purchased by Advance Tree
Lopping based in the Brisbane area and servicing South East Queensland.
"This
is an exciting event for both Red Roo and Advance Tree Lopping.
The capability and value of the Xtreme series chippers continues
to expand with the addition of the 20Xtreme,” said Sean
Kerr of Red Roo. “We are confident the 20Xtreme’s
economic advantages and reliability will enable our customers
to be even
more successful.”
"The inclusion of the 20Xtreme into
our fleet will give us a competitive advantage in cost savings
and production output,” said
Wayne Seaward, owner of Advance Tree Lopping. “We are
proud to be the first operator of the 20Xtreme in Australia.”
The
20Xtreme is built by Woodsman, Inc. for Red Roo and incorporates
features to reduce operator workload and maintenance requirements.
The computer controlled 6.8l, 325hp John Deere® engine
powers the 20Xtreme though the hardest Australian timber while
delivering
excellent fuel economy. A PT Tech® microprocessor controlled
hydraulic clutch ensures trouble free drive train engagement
with the push of a single button.
Advance Tree Lopping has ordered
the 20Xtreme with an 8ft folding conveyor and full wireless
remote control.
"Because we perform land clearing, the conveyor
system was an important feature on the machine. The ability to
machine feed along with
the huge infeed opening allows us to process material very
quickly with a minimum of effort,” said Matthew Smith of Advance
Tree Lopping. “We can typically fill our 30m_ bin in
about 18 minutes. I have the ability to control the entire
machine from
the loader using the remote. The 20Xtreme is a very easy
machine to operate and service.”
The 20Xtreme uses the
original rear pivot feed system that requires 50% less moving
parts than its competitors. The
single feed wheel
design is powered by twin planetary drives. The fully fabricated
drum is a class leading 37_” diameter and full width
cut of 36”. |

Infrastruct Contracting has taken delivery of its first Red Roo
750Xtreme woodchipper. The unit was commissioned in Margaret River
and will be used in the company’s contract line clearing
business.
The 750Xtreme is equipped with a 140hp (105kW) John Deere diesel,
hydraulic jack stand, winch and hydraulic discharge chute swivel.
Built by Woodsman, Inc., it features the largest drum in its class,
a rear pivot feed system and lift and crush, the 750Xtreme makes
short work of big jobs. The large throat size (25” wide x
16” high) allows the crew to process awkward material without
the need for trimming.
A PT Tech electronic clutch is also fitted to the 750Xtreme. The
clutch allows one button, kerb side engagement. A 3000 hour service
interval on the clutch makes it a simple choice to fit a PT Tech.
There is no adjustment or lubrication, just a visual inspection
every 500 hours.

Owner Mark Collett says the Red Roo was selected because of its
simple design, durable build and represented excellent value for
